1. Preaching and Teaching
   • Preaching at MCBC English Sunday worship service a minimum of 3 times a month with thoughtful teaching rooted in Scripture
   • Working closely with the Christian Education team to prepare and equip the saints
   • Working closely with the Worship team to prepare the weekly worship service
     


2. Shepherding and Caring
   • Visiting members regularly and providing spiritual care for them
   • Providing counseling to individuals and families
   • Partnering with the Fellowship & Caring team in visitation and caring ministry


3. Evangelism, Outreach, and Missions
   • Equipping the church to become a community of outreach, growth, and multiplication
   • Working closely with the Evangelism & Missions team to cultivate local or global missions with different people groups (unengaged and/or unreached)
     


4. Discipleship and Mentorship
   • Shepherding and discipling ministry leaders in their spiritual growth and cultivating discipleship with one another
   • Helping to resolve conflict and address criticism with the spirit of unity and reconciliation
     


5. Junior Church (JC)
   • Partnership with families in parenting and family discipleship
   • Working closely with the JC team to support the Children and Youth Ministry
     


6. Administration
   • Leading prayer meetings, presiding and drafting agendas for meetings, and participating in any other church functions/meetings as needed
   • Partnership with the CM pastor overseeing the church and maintaining healthy communication
   • Collaborating and maintaining a healthy relationship with the other churches on the VMBC campus
   • Connecting with other Baptist associations, churches, and pastor fellowships as needed

The ideal candidate must be passionate about the gospel message and committed to the EM Visions and Missions, including the MCBC constitution and bylaws. This position also requires demonstrating biblical theology, a strong desire to champion a spiritual vision, and an authentic witness of Christ to help build a biblical community. The role will require strong oral and written communication skills, the ability to develop and achieve goals, and the flexibility to work a varied schedule, such as evenings and weekends.

• An applicant with a Master’s degree in Divinity or a Master’s degree in a related field from an accredited seminary
• An applicant who is an ordained pastor is preferred, however, a candidate with strong relevant ministry experience who is willing to pursue ordination in the foreseeable future may be considered
• Prior preaching and ministering in a multicultural setting is preferred
• Devoted to prayer and Scripture
• A good listener, relatable, approachable, and communicates effectively with the diverse congregation
• The ability to handle multiple tasks, be a team player, and be a spiritual leader
• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• Fluent in English

The EM started on March 1st, 2020, as an extended congregation of MCBC, serving the increasing needs of its dynamic ethnic English-speaking members. We are a Bible-centered church whose goals are to spread the Gospel message to the local and unreached people groups so that they may have eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ.
